Midtown

Midtown lies just west-southwest of Downtown, separated from it by the Pierce Elevated section of I-45. It carries on Downtown's square grid, anchored by Main Street and the METRORail Red Line, with 325 blocks over 1.24 square miles; Montrose is to the west, the Museum District to the south and I-69 to the east. It was settled as a Victorian-era residential neighbourhood in the 19th century and around 1906 was split between the Third and Fourth Wards. Vietnamese refugees settled here in the 1970s and built the business district the City of Houston officially named Little Saigon in 2004.
