Claiming, listings, Verified and billing — the questions we get most.

How do I claim my business?

Find your listing, open it, and use Claim this business. You'll need an account. Then there are two checks, and both have to pass:

Once both are done the page is yours and the dashboard opens. Claiming is free and always will be.

My listing has no phone number or email. Can I still claim it?

Yes — by hand. If the listing has a phone but no public email, we send the email code to your own account address instead, and the normal checks still work.

If there's no phone number we can reach, the automatic checks are skipped and you go to the review path: tell us your role at the business, then upload two documents — a business licence, permit or registration certificate, and a government photo ID. JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 8 MB each. Social media links are not accepted as evidence.

A person reviews it and we email you, usually within a day. We delete the documents once the decision is made, whether or not it goes your way.

What does Verified mean, and what does it cost?

A check mark on a page can mean one of two things.

A listing that has been claimed but not verified shows a grey check on its own page only. See plans and pricing.

My business isn't listed. How do I add it?

Sign in and go to Add Your Business. We search as you type so you don't create a second copy of a listing that already exists — if we find yours, claim that one instead.

Adding a listing does not make it yours. It tells us the business exists; you still pass the claim checks above to manage the page.

What happens after I submit a new business?

It's saved as a draft and goes into the review queue — it isn't live straight away. A person checks it, and either publishes it or leaves it as a draft.

While you wait you can keep editing the draft, and you can start verifying so the page is yours to manage the moment it goes live.

How do I update my hours or photos?

Open your listing and go to Edit. Once the page is yours you can change the name, description, category and tags, address and service area, phone, email, website, booking, menu and order links, your services, deals and posts, and your opening hours for each day of the week including holiday overrides.

Photos upload straight from your phone's camera roll or your computer — JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 8 MB each. A claimed page can have as many photos as you like.

Star ratings and the Verified badge can't be edited from the dashboard.

Something on a listing is wrong. How do I report it?

At the bottom of any listing, use Report a problem with this listing. You don't need an account.

Pick a reason — something here is wrong, it's permanently closed, or offensive or spam — and add a note if it helps. A person reviews every report, and if it checks out we update the listing.

Someone else has claimed my business. How do I get it back?

Email support@yourfirstlocal.com with the listing and tell us your role and why the business is yours. You'll get a dispute form instead of the usual checks.

Then upload a business licence or registration certificate and a government photo ID. Only once we have those do we contact the current holder, and they get seven days to reply. After that a person here decides.

We never transfer a listing automatically.

How does billing work, and how do I cancel?

Claiming is free. Verified is $199 a year or $20 a month. Featured — one of six homepage slots — is $199 a month. Plans renew automatically at those prices until you cancel.

To cancel, change your card, or download an invoice, use Manage billing on your dashboard. It opens Stripe's billing portal, and everything is handled there.

Cancelling stops the next charge. Your badge or your Featured slot stays live until the end of the period you already paid for — we don't end it early. Full billing, renewal and cancellation terms.

Can't remember which email you used?

Try your addresses one at a time on the password reset form. It gives the same reply for every address, so the way to tell is which inbox actually receives the link.

If you run the business and none of them work, verify it again from its listing page. The phone and email checks don't depend on remembering your old account, so you can claim the page onto an address you can actually reach.

Still locked out? Email support@yourfirstlocal.com — an admin can move the claim to the right account.
