These Terms govern your use of YourFirstLocal ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Use of the Service
- Don't misuse, spam, or attempt to disrupt the Service
- Don't scrape or bulk-extract data without permission
- Respect applicable laws and third-party rights
Content and Listings
We strive to provide accurate, up-to-date information, but we don't guarantee completeness or accuracy of listings, events, or third-party links. You're responsible for verifying details directly with businesses or event organizers.
Content Standards and Moderation
By submitting any content to the Service — including photographs, logos, business descriptions, services, offers, reviews, questions, searches and reports — you agree that it will not contain, depict, offer or solicit any of the following:
- Sexually explicit material, and any material that sexually exploits a minor
- Graphic violence, gore, or depictions of real injury or death
- Threats of violence against any person, business or group
- Hate speech attacking people on the basis of race, religion, national origin, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation
- Illegal transactions, including the sale of controlled substances, weapons, stolen goods, counterfeits, or persons
- Instructions for or encouragement of self-harm
- Targeted harassment of an identifiable individual
Submissions are screened automatically before they are stored or published. We may block, remove, or queue for human review any content at our discretion, and we may decline to answer a search or question. Images are screened before storage; where screening cannot be performed, the upload is refused.
Blocked submissions are logged, including the time, the account where one exists, and a salted one-way digest of the network address — never the address itself. Three violations, or a single violation in a severe category, result in permanent suspension of the account and of the associated network. Suspension is enforced across the Service.
We report content to law enforcement and to relevant authorities where required by law. In the case of content that sexually exploits a minor, this includes reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.

Subscriptions, Renewal and Cancellation
Claiming a business page is free. Two paid upgrades exist:
- Verified — $199 per year, or $20 per month.
- Featured — $199 per month.
Introductory pricing, where offered, covers the first billing period only. Verified yearly is $99 for the first year and $199 per year after that. Featured is $99 per month for the first 12 months and $199 per month after that. Verified monthly is $20 per month and has no introductory rate.
Every plan renews automatically at the standard price shown above, on the same cadence, until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card details.
You can cancel at any time using the Manage billing button on your business dashboard, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: your Verified badge or Featured slot stays live until that date, and you are not charged again. We do not end access early.
Because access continues for the full period you paid for, we do not refund partial periods. If you were charged in error, or something went wrong on our side, email support@yourfirstlocal.com and we will put it right.
We will give you notice by email before any price change applies to your renewal.
No Warranties; Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. YourFirstLocal will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use means you accept the revised Terms.
